# Sebastian Hörl I am a permanent **senior researcher** at [IRT SystemX](https://irt-systemx.fr/), an applied research foundation close to Paris. Furthermore, I am **invited researcher** at the [GRETTIA](https://grettia.univ-gustave-eiffel.fr/) lab of [Université Gustave Eiffel](https://www.univ-gustave-eiffel.fr/). I have obtained my PhD from ETH Zurich in 2020 and my **HDR** (French habilitation) from Université Paris Est in 2025. My research interest lies in the replicable use and development of highly disaggregated simulations of complex socio-technical systems with a focus on transportation and mobility. Key aspects of my work are the advancement of methods for the generation of **synthetic populations** and the development of **agent-based simulations**. My overarching goal is to design, develop, and maintain the respective **open-source** tools and strongly foster the use of **open data** to ensure **reproducibility** in research and practice. ## Good to know - We will present our recent developments on the planning of electric vehicle charging infrastructure at the Cap Digital event *Le jumeau numérique pour la ville* on **10 March 2026**. - I will be presenting the *eqasim* framework in a [webinar of the Réseau Recherche Reproductible](https://www.recherche-reproductible.fr/webinaires/2026/03/20/simulations-multi-agents-transport.html) on **20 March 2026**. - I am part of the organizing committee of **[hEART 2026](https://heart2026.fr/)**.
